One would expect a fashion blogger to have a certain sense of flair and confidence when it comes to planning their wedding. For Julia, her vision of vintage style went above and beyond on the day she married Joe. Their gorgeous and timeless event took place at The Springwood Conference Center in Verona, Pennsylvania, and if one didn’t know it, this could’ve been a wedding from decades ago.
Julia definitely took special care to choose a dress that was not only stunning but fitting for her personality and the day she created. It was an ivory halter-style dress with an empire waistband. The long and flowy design was reminiscent of gowns from the 1940s. She accessorized with antique jewelry, featuring gorgeous stones and yellow gold. She wore a bright red lip and adorned her hair with a birdcage veil. She was perfection.
Her bouquet was an attractive display of deep bold colors. Garnet-colored peonies with green succulents and assorted thistle were striking and magnificent with the ivory color of her dress.
Additional details for the day included vintage Hawaiian postcards and blue hydrangea arrangements lining the aisle. Hand-in-hand with her family member, Julia was escorted down the aisle to Joe, who was wearing a blue suit.
At the garden square, complete with an arbor made of curling vines, the couple said “I do.” As the sun shined brightly on the new “Mr.” and “Mrs.” they smiled and made their way back down the aisle before heading off to take photos.
This location had many breathtaking spots in which to choose for capturing newlywed bliss. The couple embraced as the soft sunlight seeped between the trees.
Near a makeshift greenhouse they took some fun and quirky photos before coming back together, this time with Julia letting her styled updo shine.
Finally, they found themselves in a bamboo garden, where the red of Julia’s bouquet and the blue of Joe’s suit stood out against the natural green of their surroundings.
The reception was a stunning display of color and soft décor. Taking place in a grand glass atrium, tables were draped with blue linens and decorated with small vases of assorted pastel-colored flowers. An antique suitcase served as the place for guests to offer the couple their best wishes, alongside a charming display of daisies and a vintage birdcage.
Julia and Joe received toasts from their loved ones and soon enjoyed cutting the cake.
This three-tier buttercream dream was covered with slivered almonds and topped with flowers. After each taking a taste, Joe and Julia gave each other an enthusiastic high-five!
Julia and Joe’s wedding day did not disappoint. It was such a splendid collaboration of their personalities and style that it could literally be a wedding for the ages. There’s no question: when they celebrate their anniversary in 50 years, they’ll look back at a wedding day still just as gorgeous as it ever was.
