I hope all you had wonderful weekends. Feeling well and truly festive yet?
My family and our close friends just had a faux Christmas weekend filled with present giving, turkey, crackers, boozy games of Yahtzee, carol singing and all the trimmings. It was so much fun! (Instagram peek here.)
We did it because we can’t all be together for a traditional Christmas day as some of us are flying out to Dubai for Christmas, including Zee & I. (It’ll be my first ever hot Christmas!)
Onto the DIY ~ this crafty, festive project has captured my imagination because it combines two of my favourite things ~ weddings + Christmas!

Make A Christmas Bauble Out Of Your Wedding Mementos
Why not incorporate something sentimental from your wedding day into your Christmas decor for years to come?
Imagine telling your future children about that extra special bauble on the tree?!
It’s almost too cute for words!
– A mememto from your wedding eg. invitation / order of service / petals from your bouquet / photos
– A clear glass/plastic bauble ornament (with a lid you can take off) available from Michaels (US) Panduro Hobby (UK), Amazon or local craft stores.
– Any additional decorative touches such as glitter or ribbons
DIY Wedding Invitation Christmas Ornaments
You might not think it but your wedding invitations could make a super pretty ornament with a bit of creative cutting and curling.

Though, to be honest I’d be reluctant to cut up my actual invite – perhaps make a copy or use a spare that didn’t get sent out!
DIY Wedding Photo Christmas ornament
Ironically, I haven’t actually got a pretty photo to show you, but basically you carefully bend a small photo into the glass bauble and open it up so that the image faces outwards.
Take a look at this DIY tutorial on Celebrations.com.
I love the idea of making one each year for/with your children and watching as they grow ~ your Christmas tree will inevitably have to grow too to make space for them all!
DIY Wedding Bouquet Christmas Ornament
Are you preserving your wedding flowers? Or perhaps you had (or are having) a petal toss instead of a confetti toss?
Then use those fabulous florals as a reminder of your wedding every Christmas with this super easy DIY.
Carefully ‘smoosh’ your flowers or petals inside a glass ornament, gently open themup with a BBQ skewer or pencil. Et voila!

My personal favourite project is this one by Come on Ilene – she used petals and a ribbon from her wedding for extra sentimental value.

So there you have it, a simple DIY project to think about if you’re a soppy, sentimental type like me.
What do you think?
Is this a project you’d consider doing after your big day?
ps. Also, on the subject of personalized Christmas ornaments, they make great gifts or winter wedding favours too!
